I am happy to share with you the wonderful news that we have a new director for our Christ the King Choir!
Mr. Peter Kadeli contacted us earlier this summer, explaining that he was moving to our area to study for his Master’s Degree in Choral Conducting at the University of Michigan. He expressed an interest in keeping up his directing skills in a local parish and asked if we would consider him. Since Roger Holtz’s retirement, we have been praying that the Lord would help us in coming up with a solution that would support and care for the Choir as Director.
Peter is uniquely qualified for working here at Christ the King:
He was raised in the Catholic Charismatic tradition in the People of Praise Community in Virginia.
He has a wealth of experience leading worship with both guitar and piano. His most recent job was as the Music Director for the People of Praise.
He has done a lot of work with various choirs over his career, including college and youth choirs, and specializes in taking amateur singers and training them to reach a higher level of proficiency.
He holds an undergraduate degree in music from George Mason University School of Music.
He has a passion for leading worship, as well as the knowledge and experience needed to direct choral ensembles to function as worship leaders.
Peter and his wife Annie have now moved to the area and have expressed how much they already love our parish and the unique and beautiful way we celebrate the Liturgy with music. They said they feel right at home here at CTK. What a blessing!
I want to thank Jane Terwilliger, Mike McCarren, and all those who have taken upon themselves the burden of leading the Choir since last year, making innumerable sacrifices to sustain it. Their gift of time and talent is an inspiration to so many.
Peter’s arrival is a gift from the Lord for our Music Ministry. I so am excited to open this new chapter in our Choir’s proud tradition of choral worship of the Lord at Mass.
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
Martin Doman, Director of Worship, Christ the King Catholic Church
